We are currently recruiting for an experienced
Packaging Machinery Field Service Engineer to join an established and growing engineering business, covering customer sites throughout the UK .
This is a specialist field-based opportunity for an engineer with proven experience working on packaging machinery and packaging automation . Due to the technical nature of the equipment, previous packaging machinery experience is essential .
The Role
You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of automated packaging equipment at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission packaging machinery and automated packaging systems .
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and control-system faults.
- Attend customer breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
- Fault-find on automated machinery, sensors, motors, drives and PLC-controlled systems.
- Carry out machine upgrades, modifications and improvements where required.
- Provide technical support and advice to customers.
- Complete service reports and maintenance documentation.
- Identify opportunities for spare parts, upgrades and additional service work.
- Work closely with internal engineering and technical teams.
- Travel extensively throughout the UK
You should have
- Proven experience as a
Packaging Machinery Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or similar .
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience working with automated packaging equipment .
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and industrial automation.
- Experience with installation, commissioning, servicing and breakdown repair.
- Ability to diagnose faults independently and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home when required.
