My client is looking for a hands‑on Electrical & Mechanical Service Engineer to join a skilled in‑house engineering team. This is a varied workshop‑based role focused on the inspection, servicing, and repair of pumps and equipment. You will carry out detailed inspections, follow technical procedures and work instructions, and complete electro‑mechanical repairs to ensure equipment is returned to full working order. The role also involves maintaining strong customer relationships and providing technical updates where required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, and repair pumping equipment and related systems
  • Carry out electro‑mechanical fault finding and repairs
  • Follow strict procedures and quality standards in all work undertaken
  • Complete service reports and ensure accurate record keeping (GRNs, tracking, disposal processes)
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams on technical matters
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised workshop environment
  • Occasional UK site visits (company van provided)

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Level 3 engineering/technical qualification
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a hands‑on workshop/service engineering role
  • C&G 2391 Test & Inspection
  • Electrically competent with strong fault‑finding ability
  • Practical understanding of motors, pumps, or rotating equipment (preferred but not essential)
  • Comfortable working in a dirty, heavy‑duty engineering environment
  • Computer literate (service reports and documentation required)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach
