We're currently working with an established specialist logistics and freight business in Eastleigh that is looking to add an experienced operator to its Freight team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has a grounding in customs clearance across both imports and exports, but who is also keen to broaden their knowledge of road freight and develop their career further within freight forwarding.
You don't need to be an expert across every area already – the client is particularly interested in someone with the right attitude, willingness to learn and potential to develop.
The RoleYou'll primarily work within the Road Freight department, managing a varied range of shipments and supporting customers throughout the process. A significant part of the role will involve customs, so strong experience in customs clearance is important. Over time, there will also be the opportunity to develop your knowledge across other areas of freight forwarding and potentially train in an additional mode.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing day-to-day road freight shipmentsHandling import and export customs clearancePreparing and checking customs and shipping documentationLiaising with customers, hauliers, suppliers and other stakeholdersCoordinating shipments from booking through to deliveryDealing with customs queries and resolving operational issuesEnsuring shipments are processed accurately and efficientlySupporting the wider freight forwarding operationDeveloping your knowledge of road freight and other modes over timeWhat We're Looking ForWe're interested in speaking with candidates who have: Previous experience within freight forwardingSolid experience with customs clearanceKnowledge of both import and export customs processesRoad freight experience would be advantageous, but it isn't essential.
