My client is a well-established and highly specialised freight forwarding and logistics service provider, supporting customers with the global movement of sensitive and time-critical cargo. The business has an excellent reputation within its specialist sector and provides a comprehensive range of international freight and logistics services. A key area of expertise is the transportation of Class 1 Dangerous Goods, including commercial and military explosives, munitions, missiles, cartridges, detonators, weapons, defence equipment, armoured vehicles, demining equipment, and other sensitive tools and devices.
Due to continued growth, increasing shipment volumes and ambitious plans for the future, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Air Freight Coordinator to join their established team in Eastleigh. The Role
As an Air Freight Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating air freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring all movements are handled efficiently, accurately and in line with customer and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with customers, airlines, agents and internal teams to ensure shipments move smoothly and all relevant documentation and compliance requirements are met. The role would particularly suit someone who enjoys working in a busy operational environment and is looking to join a company where specialist freight experience is highly valued.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' air freight experience
- Strong understanding of air freight operations
- Import and/or export experience
- Experience handling Dangerous Goods / Hazardous Materials would be highly desirable
- IATA Dangerous Goods qualification would be highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage shipments through to completion
