An established and growing transport business is looking to appoint an experienced Driver Trainer to support the development, safety, and performance of its driver workforce. This is a key role within the operation, focused on designing and delivering structured training programmes, improving driver standards, and ensuring compliance across the fleet. The Role: You will be responsible for developing and delivering high‑quality training to drivers at all stages of their careers. This includes creating tailored training modules, supporting inductions, and implementing mentoring programmes to enhance driver capability and performance. You will also play a key role in developing safe systems of work, monitoring driver performance through telematics, and supporting investigations to identify root causes and implement improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver structured driver training programmes
- Support driver inductions and ongoing development
- Assess driver performance and provide coaching and feedback
- Develop and implement safe systems of work
- Monitor compliance with transport and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate training records
- Support incident investigations and identify training needs
- Work closely with internal teams to drive operational standards
- Manage CPC training and support external training delivery where required
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs across the fleet
About You:
- Proven experience in a driver training or transport‑focused role
- Strong understanding of transport operations and compliance
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to adapt training styles to suit different learners
- Full UK driving licence
- Train the Trainer qualification is desirable
