Customs Clearance Specialist – Tilbury – Up to £32,000

Our client, an independent freight forwarder, is looking for a Customs Clearance Specialist to join their growing team in Tilbury, UK.

As a Customs Clearance Specialist, you will be responsible for arranging import clearances for the company\’s key clients.

Hours: Monday to Friday, [specify hours]

Job responsibilities:

1. Arrange import clearances for key clients, ensuring prompt processing to maintain high service levels.
2. Communicate with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather and provide information necessary for customs clearance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC guidelines.
3. Guide customers on importing goods into the UK, including commodity codes, customs procedures, and general import requirements.
4. Maintain standards set by working within an AEO accredited freight forwarder framework.

Job specifications:

1. Minimum two years of successful experience working with a UK-based freight forwarder.
2. Previous experience with processing and completing entries using CDS.
3. Experience with CNS and Destin8 systems.
