The Opportunity
You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day planning and coordination of UK road freight, making sure collections and deliveries happen on time and customer expectations are met.
No two days will be the same.
You’ll be responsible for planning transport, monitoring vehicles, dealing with delays and changes, and making quick decisions to keep everything moving.

- What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and schedule daily UK collections and deliveries.
- Coordinate closely with hauliers and transport partners to ensure work is completed as planned.
- Monitor vehicle movements and react quickly to delays, breakdowns, traffic issues and customer changes.
- Re-plan transport when required to protect service levels.
- Prioritise urgent and time-critical shipments.
- Maximise the efficient use of vehicles, hauliers and available transport resources.
- Build strong working relationships with subcontractors and transport partners.
- Handle customer queries and resolve transport-related issues professionally.
- Keep transport and shipment records accurate and up to date.
- Use internal transport management systems to monitor and control daily operations.
- Support the wider operations team and contribute to a positive team environment.
- What We’re Looking For
We’re ideally looking for someone with previous experience in UK road freight, transport planning or transport operations.
You’ll need
- Good knowledge of UK transport and road freight operations.
- Experience planning or coordinating collections and deliveries.
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with hauliers and customers.
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Strong attention to detail and administration skills.
- Experience using a TMS or logistics software.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to stay calm and make decisions when things don't go to plan.
Experience with subcontracted hauliers, general haulage, pallet networks, transport compliance or KPI reporting would be advantageous.
