Overview
In this role you will design mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems for building projects, ensuring compliance with fire safety and client requirements. You will collaborate with architects, consultants and contractors to produce design packs and technical docs, while evaluating CFD outputs to validate performance in fire scenarios. Your work supports high-rise and new-build projects, delivering precise CAD-based designs that meet industry standards. This is a hands-on technical position within a dedicated team advancing safe, compliant ventilation solutions.

Responsibilities
- Design and detail smoke ventilation and HVAC systems using CAD tools
- Review project specifications and ensure designs meet fire safety and ventilation requirements
- Produce design packs and technical documentation
- Collaborate with architects, consultants and contractors
- Review CFD analyses to support system performance in fire conditions
Key requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
- Experience designing smoke ventilation, HVAC or building services systems
- Strong CAD capability (AutoCAD, Revit or SolidWorks)
- Good understanding of ventilation principles
- Knowledge of EN 12101, BS 9999 and relevant building/fire safety regulations
- Ability to interpret specifications and produce detailed technical designs
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with high-rise residential or new-build projects advantageous
- BIM experience advantageous
