Ready to move from freight operations into something new? If you are an experienced freight operator, supervisor or team leader who enjoys coaching colleagues, sharing knowledge and improving how things are done, this could be the career move you have been waiting for. An established international freight forwarding and logistics business is looking for a Freight Forwarding Training Manager to join its People and Performance function. You do not need to be an established trainer. The business is particularly interested in operational professionals who understand the realities of a fast-paced freight environment and are ready to step away from day-to-day operations to take on a fresh challenge.
You will use your operational knowledge to deliver practical, engaging training that helps teams understand systems, adopt new processes and perform at their best.
The role
- Deliver practical systems training across CargoWise and other operational platforms.
- Turn operational processes and system changes into clear, accessible training sessions.
- Support system rollouts, updates and new ways of working.
- Deliver structured onboarding for new employees.
- Help new starters become confident and productive quickly.
- Provide follow-up training to reinforce learning and address knowledge gaps.
- Support development programmes for graduates and apprentices.
- Facilitate behavioural and professional skills sessions.
- Create straightforward, fit-for-purpose training materials.
- Monitor the adoption of systems and processes, providing additional support where required.
- Build strong relationships with operational teams, system specialists and other stakeholders.
- Respond quickly to changing business priorities and emerging training requirements.
This is a hands-on role focused on delivering and embedding effective training. The priority is making a practical difference without overcomplicating the content.
What we’re looking for
- Strong freight forwarding, logistics or process-driven operational experience.
- Experience as a supervisor, team leader, senior operator or subject-matter expert.
- A natural ability to coach colleagues and explain processes clearly.
- Experience supporting onboarding, systems training or employee development.
- Confidence facilitating sessions and engaging groups.
- The ability to turn complex operational information into simple, practical guidance.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder-management skills.
- A proactive, delivery-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- An interest in moving away from day-to-day operations and developing a career in training and people development.
- Experience using CargoWise would be highly desirable, but it is not essential.
What’s on offer
- A salary of up to £45,000.
- Monday-to-Friday working hours of 9:00am–5:30pm.
- A discretionary bonus scheme.
- Health and wellbeing benefits.
- Free parking.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- The opportunity to influence how operational teams adopt new systems and processes.
- A supportive and inclusive working environment.
If you are ready to take your freight forwarding experience in a new direction and make a genuine impact on how others learn and perform, we would love to hear from you.
