Industrial Applications Engineer is required with strong technical background in industrial pumps or process engineering. The role is working for a global manufacturer and while it is office based, has an international remit.Experience as a Process Engineer, Technical Applications Engineer or similar is required. The purpose is to ensure that every industrial offer submitted is technically sound and commercially compelling.The RoleOwn the end-to-end creation of technical offers for industrial customersEnsure every offer is technically accurate, application-appropriateSelect and specify the right solution architecture across Heating, Cooling, Water Transfer, and High-Pressure Applications based on customer process requirementsBuild energy savings calculations, ROI models, and lifecycle cost casesEngage directly with plant engineers, process managers, and energy managersConduct site assessments and process audits to map system architecturesAnalyse P&IDs38 Hours – Monday-Friday, flexible working hours. Primarily office based in Manchester.20% UK travelRequirementsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical disciplineExperience in in industrial pumps, heavy industrial or process environments – metals, mining, cement, food & beverage, or other power and water-intensive industriesDemonstrated experience in application engineering, technical offer creation, or process engineering rolesAbility to read, interpret, and commercially analyse P&IDs and process schematicsCompetency in parallel operations – boilers, pumps, chillers, cooling towersSolution architecture capability for process applications – able to design system-level solutions, not just select individual componentsAbility to build energy savings calculations, ROI models, and carbon reduction cases from first principlesFamiliarity with industrial protection classes, IP ratings, and hazardous area compliance requirementsPackage50K – 70K25 days holiday9% Company pension WR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
