Looking for an ocean imports role offering flexible working and a choice of working hours? A freight forwarding business in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Coordinator to manage shipments from origin through to final delivery.
The Package
- Salary up to £40,000, depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, with working hours of 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm
- Flexible working
- 28 days’ holiday
- Full-time, permanent position
The Role
- Manage ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers
- Arrange collections and deliveries, monitoring shipment progress
- Prepare and check shipping documentation
- Coordinate customs clearance and ensure accurate information is provided
- Prepare quotations, monitor shipment costs and complete invoicing
- Resolve delays and keep customers informed throughout
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers
What You’ll Need
- Ocean import experience within freight forwarding
- A good understanding of import procedures and shipping documentation
- Experience coordinating customs clearance and UK deliveries
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- An organised approach and the ability to manage multiple shipments
