Love data, food and figuring out what makes a product sell?

We’re looking for a commercially curious Category Analyst to join our Buying team and help shape the future of our food categories.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys looking beyond the numbers – asking "why is this selling?", "why isn’t it?" and "what could we do differently?" – and turning data and customer insight into ideas that drive growth.

You’ll work alongside experienced Category Managers, gaining hands‑on exposure to category strategy, range reviews, NPD, customer insight and commercial decision‑making across areas including Butchery, Cakes & Bakery and other specialist food categories.

What you’ll get involved in

• Analyse sales, category and product performance to uncover opportunities.
• Help shape and optimise product ranges for different customers and channels.
• Support category reviews, NPD and range-gap projects, including Own Brand.
• Use Excel and Power BI to turn data into meaningful commercial insight.
• Work with customers, suppliers and internal teams to understand trends and opportunities.
• Get involved in product launches, category marketing, supplier events and trade shows.

Is this you?

You’re analytical, commercially minded and naturally curious. You enjoy working with data but also want to understand the story behind it. You’re organised, confident communicating with others and excited by products, food and consumer trends.

Experience in foodservice, retail, FMCG or a supplier environment would be a real advantage, but we’re equally interested in your commercial mindset and potential.
