We’re recruiting a Graduate Quantity Surveyor for a growing mechanical and electrical contractor delivering complex building services projects across London and the South East.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Quantity Surveying graduate to begin their career within M&E contracting, gaining exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of major projects. The business delivers complete mechanical and electrical packages, including design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
The Role
- Support the commercial management of M&E projects
- Assist with valuations, applications for payment and cost reporting
- Review subcontractor quotations and packages
- Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Assist with variations and change control
- Monitor project costs against budgets
- Help prepare forecasts and commercial reports
- Support subcontractor payment assessments
- Assist with final accounts and project close-out
- Work closely with Project Managers, engineers and senior commercial staff
The Candidate
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and organisation
- Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and Office
- Interest in mechanical, electrical or building services construction
- Placement or construction experience advantageous but not essential
