We are recruiting for an experienced Ocean Freight Operator to join a well-established and growing UK freight forwarder based in Redditch. This is a hands-on, start-to-finish role with a strong focus on sea freight import and export operations, offering the opportunity to develop into a fully multimodal operator with exposure to air and road freight (full training provided).
Role Includes:
- Start-to-finish management of sea freight import and export shipments
- Handling customs clearance and all associated documentation
- Liaising with customers, overseas agents, carriers, and suppliers
- Arranging final delivery and transport
- Resolving operational issues professionally and efficiently
- Accurate job costing and invoicing
- Supporting air and road freight bookings as part of multimodal development
- Making consultative outbound calls to customers to support service delivery and growth
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in sea freight operations (imports and/or exports)
- Solid understanding of international freight forwarding processes
- Customs clearance experience
- Confident handling files end to end
- Organised, detail-focused, and customer-driven
- Air or road freight experience beneficial but not essential
