About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Fleet to lead vehicle and trailer operations, driving fleet strategy, compliance, sustainability, and cost efficiency. This senior hands-on role will oversee maintenance, supplier performance, and continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the fleet strategy to support business growth
  • Drive the transition to electric and alternative-fuel vehicles
  • Oversee vehicle and trailer maintenance, ensuring safety and compliance
  • Manage total cost across the fleet
  • Monitor performance and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service
  • Build strong relationships with OEMs and maintenance suppliers
  • Use telematics and fleet systems to analyse performance and drive improvements
  • Lead projects, implement policies, and maintain fleet documentation
  • Develop and manage the fleet team, including performance reviews and coaching

Requirements

Essential

  • HGV Repair & Maintenance qualification
  • Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, compliance, and safety standards
  • Commercial and financial awareness
