Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer responsible for delivering resilient, compliant, and future-proof power infrastructure. The role ensures uninterrupted electrical supply, oversees the planning, installation, and maintenance of HV and LV systems, and leads the delivery of infrastructure to support ongoing operations and expansion.
The Electrical Engineer will set and implement electrical maintenance strategy, manage consultants, contractors, and engineering teams, and act as a Senior Authorised Person with responsibility for operational switching and out of hours emergency response.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure appropriate third-party support contracts are in place to enable rapid recovery of the electrical network following unplanned outages.
- Maintain effective operation of SCADA and BMS systems to monitor electrical consumption across buildings, lighting, and operational equipment.
- Develop and implement a metering strategy to accurately capture network losses and energy consumption for tenants and internal cost centres.
- Implement a cost-effective, resilient electrical maintenance and asset management strategy aligned with tenant requirements and wider business objectives.
- Maintain and develop the technical competence required to manage day to day electrical operations, switching activities, and fault response.
- Plan and deliver electrical maintenance activities in line with operational demands and statutory requirements.
- Ensure the Electrical Safe Systems of Work are maintained, updated, and aligned with current legislation and industry best practice.
- Enforce compliance with Safe Systems of Work and ensure all associated documentation is accurate, complete, and auditable.
- Manage multiple electrical construction and maintenance contracts, ensuring delivery to agreed time scales, budgets, and quality standards.
Skills and Experience:
- HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in high-voltage (HV) network switching, preferably for systems above 11kV.
- Competent and certified as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for HV operations.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in maintaining, managing, and optimising HV electrical networks.
- Track record of proactive problem solving, innovation, and implementing solutions that drive operational efficiency and excellence.
- Understanding of, and experience supporting, organisations that operate critical infrastructure with 24/7 operational requirements.
