European Road Freight Operator

Location: Gloucester

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm

Salary: up to £30,000

The Opportunity

I'm currently working with a well-established and growing international logistics business that is looking to add an experienced European Operator to its Gloucester operation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in European transport, freight forwarding or logistics operations who enjoys being involved in the detail of a shipment and takes pride in delivering a high level of customer service.

You'll join a busy and successful European Operations team, playing an important role in coordinating shipments, liaising with customers and overseas agents, and making sure freight moves smoothly from collection through to delivery.

What will you be doing?

• Managing European shipments and ensuring they are coordinated efficiently from booking through to delivery.




• Building strong relationships with customers and overseas agents, providing regular updates and accurate ETAs.




• Creating and maintaining shipments on the company’s Transport Management System (TMS).




• Working closely with Customs, Transport and Warehouse teams to ensure goods are loaded and moved efficiently.




• Preparing load lists, manifests and customs instructions for the relevant teams and overseas agents.




• Reviewing customer invoices and ensuring the necessary information is compliant with UK and EU customs requirements.

What are they looking for?

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a freight forwarding operations environment.

You'll need to be organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy operation. Strong customer service and communication skills are important, as you'll be dealing regularly with customers, agents, hauliers and internal departments.
