Freight Forwarder - Airfreight Imports

We're working with a well-established and highly respected independent freight forwarder who are looking for a Freight Forwarder - Airfreight Imports to join their Bradford-based team.
Previous airfreight experience is not essential - the client is happy to consider candidates from other freight modes and will provide the training and support required to develop your airfreight knowledge.
The Role
Working as part of the Airfreight Import team, you will be involved in a varied role covering quotations, costing, customer service and general import coordination.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with airfreight import and cross-trade operations
- Obtaining and comparing rates from airlines, overseas agents and suppliers
- Preparing accurate and competitive customer quotations
- Maintaining regular contact with customers and providing shipment updates
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, overseas agents and internal teams
- Supporting the wider Airfreight Import team with day-to-day operations
- Developing your knowledge of airfreight import procedures and international logistics
- Supporting general office and administration duties when required

About You
You don't necessarily need airfreight experience. What's important is that you have a good understanding of the freight forwarding environment and are keen to learn.
You may currently be working in:
- Road Freight
- Sea Freight
- European Freight
- Import/Export
- Freight Forwarding
We're looking for:
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills as you will be preparing quotations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach
- A genuine interest in developing a career within airfreight
