Our client, an established and highly regarded organisation within the aerospace sector, is seeking an experienced Aftermarket Programme Manager to lead the successful delivery of aftermarket customer commitments within a Part 145 environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational, commercial, and technical performance across a portfolio of hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation products. You will act as the primary customer interface post-entry-into-service, driving service excellence, resolving complex issues, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction while balancing cost, schedule, quality, and product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Leadership & Delivery
    • Lead the planning and delivery of Part 145 aftermarket programmes, including repairs, retrofits, modifications, reliability improvements, and obsolescence management.
    • Manage programme cost, schedule, and performance against contractual and internal commitments.
    • Identify risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation and continuous improvement actions.
    • Ensure safety, airworthiness, and configuration control across all aftermarket activities.
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Act as the main point of contact for all in-service programme matters.
    • Provide clear communication, recovery plans, and updates on technical or commercial issues.
    • Lead regular customer reviews covering performance, reliability trends, and repair metrics.
    • Build long-term customer relationships to support ongoing and future business.
  • Technical & Engineering Coordination
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve in-service issues.
    • Coordinate investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
    • Drive prioritisation and delivery of technical changes and service bulletins.
    • Ensure engineering decisions maintain safety, reliability, and certification standards.
  • Operations, Supply Chain & Commercial Interface
    • Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure repair flow, turnaround times, and spares availability meet expectations.
    • Monitor cost drivers and support initiatives to improve margins and efficiency.
    • Support contract negotiations, warranty claims, and pricing activities.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
    • Champion data-driven performance metrics such as reliability trends, MTBF, and repair TAT.
    • Deliver regular programme reports to internal stakeholders and customers.
    • Drive actions to improve KPI performance and overall programme health.
  • Compliance, Governance & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations, export controls, and internal processes.
    • Maintain robust configuration control of products and documentation.
    • Promote a strong safety and airworthiness culture at all times.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Essential
    • Proven programme or project management experience within the aerospace industry.
    • Strong understanding of hydraulic or electro-mechanical actuation systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
    • Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills.
    • Experience managing programme financials, risks, and complex stakeholder environments.
    • Ability to analyse technical issues and coordinate effective solutions.
  • Desirable
    • Experience delivering Part 145 aftermarket or MRO support programmes.
    • Familiarity with aerospace regulatory frameworks and airworthiness principles.
    • Background in engineering, operations, or supply chain within aerospace.
    • Professional project management certification (e.g. APM, PMI).
    • Previous or current EASA Form 1 or 4 holder (or equivalent).
