Food & Beverage Supervisor – Restaurant & Bar | Graduate Cambridge

Location: Cambridge, CB3
Pay: Up to £15.60 per hour OTE
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Department: Food & Beverage – Restaurant and Bar

Lead the floor at one of Cambridge’s most characterful hotels

Graduate Cambridge sits on the banks of the River Cam, a short stroll from the colleges, the punts and the buzz of the city centre. Our restaurant and bar are where locals, students, academics and travellers come together, whether that’s for morning coffee, a long lunch, after-work drinks or a celebration dinner.

We’re looking for a Food & Beverage Supervisor who loves a busy service, knows how to lift a team, and gets a kick out of making every guest feel like a regular. If you’re a confident restaurant or bar supervisor (or an ambitious senior waiter or bartender ready to step up), this is your next move.

What you’ll be doing

Everything we do is guided by our ethos, work hard and be kind, and our four values. As F&B Supervisor, you’ll bring them to life on every shift.

Hospitality is at our core. You’ll run the floor during service, managing the flow, reading the room and keeping everything moving smoothly across restaurant and bar. You’ll set the tone for warm, polished and genuinely personal hospitality, and handle guest feedback with confidence to turn a wobble into a win.

We do the right thing. You’ll champion food safety, allergen procedures, licensing and health and safety standards on every shift, and look after your team as well as you look after your guests.

We pursue excellence. You’ll lead, motivate and coach a team of waiters, bartenders and runners, owning briefings, section plans, opening and closing, and cash-up. Working closely with the kitchen, you’ll keep service tight and communication sharp.

We are all entrepreneurs. You’ll drive sales through upselling, menu knowledge and a great drinks offer, spot opportunities to do things better, and support the F&B management team with stock, rotas and training.

What you’ll bring

  • Previous supervisory experience in a quality restaurant, bar or hotel F&B environment, or strong experience as a senior team member ready for the next step
  • A natural leader who stays calm, upbeat and in control when it’s busy
  • Real passion for food, drinks and hospitality, with cocktail and wine knowledge a big plus
  • Excellent communication skills with both guests and team
  • A sharp eye for detail and a high bar for standards
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
  • A Personal Licence, Level 2 Food Safety or allergen training is desirable but not essential, as we’ll support you

What’s in it for you

  • Up to £15.60 per hour OTE
  • Flexible shifts that fit around your life, study or other commitments
  • Meals on shift from our kitchen
  • Full training in cocktails, wine, service and responsible alcohol sales
  • Central Cambridge location, easy to reach by bike, bus or on foot
  • Variety across bar, restaurant, room service and events, so no two shifts are the same
  • Room to grow into assistant F&B manager, F&B manager and beyond, across a hospitality group including Rusacks St Andrews, The Randolph Oxford and our Lisbon properties
  • Team discounts and perks across the White Rabbit group

Ready to step up?

If you’re a hospitality leader who wants to grow your career in Cambridge, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today with your CV and a few lines telling us what great service means to you.
