This role supports the growth of White Oak’s ABL portfolio by working alongside the wider team and the Managing Director to assess, progress and convert new business opportunities. The role exists to provide analytical and commercial support across origination, credit underwriting and onboarding, ensuring opportunities are evaluated accurately, progressed efficiently and delivered in line with White Oak objectives.

Description of role and key responsibilities:

  • The Business Development Executive supports the presentation of WO 6, 7 and WO EUR ABL potential clients and assists the Business Development Managers (BDM) & Managing Director (MD) in the sales, credit/underwriting and onboarding process of ABL clients.
  • Assist business with engagement and pitching with introductory sources including Debt Advisors, Lawyers, other Lenders and Private Equity firms.
  • Identify and engage with potential clients; contact and engage with potential clients via email and/or phone - follow up new business opportunities and arrange meetings.
  • Add information to CRM system and track.
  • Assist in the planning of pitches and work with BDM’s to develop, create and be accountable for all client pitches and proposals.
  • With BDM and MD prepare credit submissions for presentation to credit committee following WOUK Finance procedures through the whole process.
  • Ensure an efficient, high quality and error free processing of proposals/applications in line with client needs.
  • Achieve productivity and sales budget KPI’s set out by the Company.
  • Develop an understanding of client requirements to offer a client focused first class service.
  • Assist in the planning of new marketing initiatives and attend conferences, meetings, and industry events with colleagues.
  • Support the maintenance and management of the pipeline and ensure administration is completed on WOUK’s internal systems to aid the fair treatment of customers.
  • Ensure comprehensive, up-to-date prospect/client account records are maintained on the appropriate CRM database.
  • Understand your client’s requirements and price transactions accordingly.
  • Perform your role with a positive and constructive attitude within the team environment, adhering to WO Company values of Collaboration, Agility, Respect and Excellence.
  • Ensure all compliance regulation and legislation is adhered to where relevant.
  • Interact professionally within WO teams.
  • Any other request deemed reasonable from your line manager.

Core skills and knowledge:

  • Financial analysis skills are an important requirement of this role with an ability to read, analyse and understand financial statements and present these in a coherent manner in consideration of new credit requests.
  • Some experience within ABL/Invoice Finance or Financial Services is preferred; however, consideration will be given to those with alternative sector experience.
  • Be highly motivated self-starter that enjoys working under time pressure and targets.
  • Dedicated and able to work within a high performing team with a desire to drive success.
  • Highly client focused with a commitment to achieve the highest standards.
  • Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with ability to influence.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Co-Pilot and Outlook; experience of using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce also preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organisation and able to prioritise.
  • Some knowledge of the invoice finance industry and its events or willingness to learn.
