About Us

White Lodge enables those with disabilities, their families, and their carers to lead fulfilling lives. Supporting over 2,500 individuals across the country, we offer a diverse range of services for all ages and abilities. Our wonderful site in Chertsey houses three specialist buildings, each with great facilities and services. These include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, a specialist nursery, hydrotherapy, holiday clubs, personal support in the home, short breaks, fitness and rehabilitation. We also offer many activities such as trips out, art, baking, swimming, and much more!

We are now looking for a Maintenance Operative to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 40 hours per week.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional with experience in a trade such as plumbing, electrical work, or carpentry to join our dedicated team. Joining our dedicated team, you’ll enable us to achieve our vision of a world which is inclusive to all, regardless of ability, making a difference to countless lives across the country.

The Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you will ensure our three buildings and surrounding gardens are safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose. Specifically, you’ll take the lead in the upkeep of the site, performing a range of maintenance duties and minor repairs, whilst working with third-party contractors for specialist tasks. Driving our minibus as part of a rota, you will also support the wider team in delivering services to those we support.

Additionally, you will:

  • Manage gardening and external cleaning
  • Conduct and log building safety checks
  • Maintain and update maintenance tracking systems

Please note, due to our open and collaborative working environment and the nature of our work with children and adults with disabilities, all our office-based roles can experience periods of elevated noise levels and some elements of disruption.

About You

To be considered as a Maintenance Operative, you will need:

  • Experience in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or similar)
  • A good level of IT literacy
  • GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths at pass level)
  • A full, valid driving licence

Please note, all staff are required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
