White Label Resources specialises in helping businesses achieve success by bringing together the professional services that are vital to any organisation. We are currently recruiting for an experienced office administrator to join our already successful and established legal practice. We offer a broad range of business and financial services from traditional accountancy to bespoke business advice, specialist taxation services and corporate advice.
The office administrator will work as part of a team and will be required to carry out a range of administrative tasks in support of the accountants for a diverse variety of clients from sole traders to large, limited companies. They will be required to have strong organisational skills to manage their time, as they will collaborate with clients, commercial partners and colleagues in a fast‑paced environment. They should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Role Purpose
The Semi Senior Accountant plays a key role in delivering accurate, timely and commercially focused accounting services to a varied client portfolio ranging from sole traders to limited companies. The role is responsible for supporting clients through compliant financial management, statutory reporting, taxation requirements and ongoing business support, whilst maintaining high standards of client care, professional integrity and operational efficiency.
This role requires strong technical accounting capability combined with excellent organisational skills, commercial awareness and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues. The successful candidate will contribute to the wider success of the business by ensuring work is completed accurately, deadlines are achieved and client expectations are consistently met.
Key Accountabilities
- Client Accounting & Compliance
- Prepare statutory accounts from a variety of accounting records, including incomplete records where required.
- Complete bank reconciliations, control account reconciliations and nominal ledger reviews.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and within required deadlines.
- Produce corporation tax computations and personal tax returns.
- Support the preparation of management accounts and financial forecasting information.
- Ensure all financial records are maintained in accordance with relevant accounting standards and internal procedures.
- Assist with internal audit activity where required.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain positive professional relationships with clients.
- Respond to client queries in a timely, professional and commercially appropriate manner.
- Liaise with HMRC and external bodies on behalf of clients where appropriate.
- Support clients with accounting software queries and bookkeeping processes.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service aligned to company values and client expectations.
- Systems & Operational Delivery
- Use accounting software efficiently including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Digita and IRIS.
- Support bookkeeping activities across multiple client accounts.
- Visit client sites where required to support bookkeeping setup, VAT processes or accounting system support.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
- Prioritise workloads effectively during peak periods and changing business demands.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong understanding of accounts preparation.
- Qualified, part‑qualified or qualified by experience.
- Experience using cloud accounting platforms including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
