White Label are very excited to be working exclusively with an extremely reputable and market leading business based in Skelmersdale. They now seek a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their very busy engineering team. The company provides bespoke material handling and machinery production systems to key blue chip clients in the automotive, modular housing and general industry sectors.
As a key member of our design team, you will have the opportunity to lead design project delivery as part of the turnkey bespoke material handling system solutions.

The Role
We are looking for a high calibre self-starter, design engineer, capable of delivering mechanical design packages – 3D models and fabrication drawings using Solidworks. As part of the Design team, develop design concepts, controls, procedures, modelling and production of manufacturing drawings.
Skills/Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated 5-10 years bespoke machine design experience.
- Demonstrated experience in material handling design ideally within an automotive background.
- Must have 5 years Solidworks experience in a similar role.
- Have high intellect and potential to evolve within the company.
- Good written and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Must have experience in design of special purpose machinery and handling equipment.
- Detailed knowledge of drawing principles and standards.
- Has knowledge in fabrication.
- Can work effectively within a team and on their own.
- Can meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Experience with FEA.
Responsibilities
- Design, development of bespoke and existing products.
- Understanding and interpreting customer requirements.
- Ensure designs conform to industry, customer and company standards.
- Select suitable materials, surface finished coating etc for the products intended use.
- Carry out regular design reviews with the team and/or customer.
- Output accurate models, drawings, BoM’s and other technical documents.
