Overview
White Label is exclusively representing an engineering and manufacturing business in Hyde that require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of projects from concept through to delivery. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with production, projects, and senior management to ensure designs are efficient, safe, and cost-effective.
Base pay range
This range is provided by White Label Recruitment. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000, 25 days holiday + stats and workplace pension. Working hours are Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:30 with flexibility around start and finish times.
Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
- Lead the design and development of bespoke equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
- Produce 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
- Carry out design calculations, stress analysis, and materials selection where required.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are practical and effective.
- Drive continuous improvement through engineering innovation.
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across the team.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure design solutions meet requirements.
Experience / Qualifications
- 5 years + experience in a mechanical design engineering role
- Proficient in 3D CAD (Ideally Solidworks)
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, welding).
- Experience leading projects from concept to delivery
