Structural Manager in Sunderland

The company specialises in bulk material handling and plant processing markets, offering services across sectors such as mining, tunnelling, quarrying, oil & gas, and more.\\n\\nWe are recruiting for a Structural Manager to be an integral part of the team: This role can will be based in either Sunderland OR Chorley depending on the distance of the individual (TBD)\\n\\nBenefits\\n\\n * Competitive salary £50k – £70k DOE\\n\\n * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays – ops to buy more holidays\\n\\n * Contribution towards eye test and glasses\\n\\n * Online company discount benefits site including cinema tickets and gym membership discount\\n\\n * Long Service Awards\\n\\n * Employee recognition scheme\\n\\n * Employee Assistance Programme\\n\\n * Flexible Benefits Package\\n\\n * 37 hours per week with a 1pm finish on a Friday\\n\\n * Hybrid working opportunities\\n\\nYour Key Responsibilities\\n\\n * Wholly accountable for the quality of Civil/ Structural engineering output, and on-time delivery in accordance with project requirements.\\n\\n * Ensure all Civil/ Structural designs are code compliant, meet specification, safe in design, and consider lifecycle requirements.\\n\\n * Support Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Bids with information and guidance.\\n\\n * Work closely with other Department Heads in the business to ensure synergy.\\n\\n * Promote Civil/ Structural/ equipment standardisation and re-use.\\n\\n * Line management responsibilities and duties across multiple sites; responsible for departmental performance and setting objectives to meet business and individual goals.\\n\\n * Development of Civil/ Structural engineering tools and processes that ensure designs are robust and outputs in line with scope.\\n\\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\\n\\n * BEng (Hons) in Engineering (preferably Civil or Structural)\\n\\n * Chartered Engineer (CEng, preferably ICE or IStructE)\\n\\n * Strong experience in a Civil/ Structural engineering field.\\n\\n * Knowledge of the construction & process industries and applicable standards.\\n\\n * Ability to use structural analytical software unaided (STAAD Pro or TEKLA Structures preferred).\\n\\n * Ability to interpret Site Investigation reports and identify civil implications.\\n\\n * Happy to travel between the two sites in the North West and North East a couple of times a month.\\n\\nIf this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please apply
