Design Engineer in Sunderland

The company specialises in bulk material handling and plant processing markets, offering services across sectors such as mining, tunnelling, quarrying, oil & gas, and more.\\nWe are recruiting for a Design Engineer to be an integral part of the team:\\nBenefits\\n * Competitive salary £40k – £55k DOE\\n * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays – ops to buy more holidays\\n * Contribution towards eye test and glasses\\n * Online company discount benefits site including cinema tickets and gym membership discount\\n * Long Service Awards\\n * Employee recognition scheme\\n * Employee Assistance Programme\\n * Flexible Benefits Package\\n * 37 hours per week with a 1pm finish on a Friday\\n * Hybrid working opportunities\\nYour Key Responsibilities\\n * Responsible for all aspects of design\\n * Undertake Risk Assessments and FMEA.\\n * Organise and attend regular multi-disciplinary design reviews.\\n * Produce required legislative documentation.\\n * Monitoring of budgets and project plans.\\n * Liaison with customers and suppliers.\\n * Generation of ‘Design, Operation and Maintenance’ documentation.\\n * Provide customer support, as required.\\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\\n * HNC in relevant design or engineering discipline, or equivalent\\n * Previous experience in material handling or similar\\n * Good 3D CAD software knowledge (Autodesk Inventor or Revit preferred).\\n * Understanding of the design process, and its associated documentation.\\n * Good knowledge of manufacturing processes associated with heavy fabrication.\\n * Understanding of mechanical and structural design principles.\\n * Good understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA).\\n * Proficient at using Microsoft Office applications.\\n * Ability to clearly communicate design ideas, both internally and externally.\\nIf this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please apply
