Proposals Engineer / Bid Engineer / Cost Engineer

White Label Recruitment are currently working with a well-established engineering services business to recruit a Proposals Engineer / Bid Engineer to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering organisation delivering complex projects across the energy, process, utilities, power generation, manufacturing, chemical and industrial sectors.

You'll play a key role in producing technical and commercial proposals, working closely with engineering, operations and commercial teams to secure a wide range of engineering projects.

Whether you're already working within bids and proposals or come from an estimating or cost engineering background, this is an opportunity to take ownership of the tendering process within a collaborative and forward-thinking business.

The Role

As a Proposals Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing bids from initial enquiry through to successful submission, ensuring technical accuracy, commercial competitiveness and on-time delivery.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing multiple bids, tenders and proposals simultaneously.
  • Reviewing customer enquiries, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Coordinating technical and commercial input from engineering, operations and project teams.
  • Preparing high-quality technical and commercial submissions.
  • Reviewing labour hours, project costs and commercial assumptions.
  • Working alongside engineering teams to develop competitive tender strategies.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Liaising with customers where clarification is required.
  • Ensuring submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Supporting continuous improvements to bid and proposal processes.
  • Assisting with project handovers following successful contract awards.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience within an engineering environment and enjoy working on technical tenders and commercial proposals.

You'll ideally have

  • Experience preparing engineering bids, tenders or proposals.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • The ability to understand engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience working within industrial engineering, process industries, EPC, engineering services, manufacturing, utilities, energy or similar sectors.
