White Label is representing an engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield that requires a Project Manager to join their team. The Project Manager is tasked with leading and coordinating various teams, including engineering, commercial, supply chain, and site teams, to ensure successful completion of material handling projects. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, strong project management skills, effective team leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

My client is offering a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager

  • Manage and coordinate efforts of engineering, commercial, supply chain, and site teams to achieve project goals.
  • Foster collaboration and effective communication among all teams to ensure a unified approach to project execution.
  • Develop and maintain cost-to-complete models based on as-sold budgets, overseeing financial aspects across all teams.
  • Regularly review and adjust financial projections and budgets to align with project progress and changes.
  • Utilise Microsoft Project for planning smaller projects and liaise with dedicated planners for larger projects.
  • Ensure that all project plans, including Gantt charts, are aligned with the capabilities and resources of the engineering, commercial, supply chain, and site teams.
  • Oversee all contractual obligations, ensuring that deliverables from each team align with client requirements and project timelines.
  • Lead the negotiation and management of contracts related to key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring technical compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Address technical challenges and ensure solutions meet operational needs and industry standards.
  • Identify risks across all areas of the project, including engineering, commercial, and supply chain aspects, and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain a Project Risk Register and a Project Issues Register to put in place effective mitigation and issue resolution strategies.
  • Maintain strong lines of communication with all project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, airport authorities, and contractors.
  • Manage expectations and resolve any issues that arise in a timely and effective manner.
  • Generate detailed reports covering all aspects of the project, including progress updates and financial status.
  • Monitor the performance of all teams, ensuring that project milestones are met, and standards of excellence are maintained.

Experience required of the Project Manager

  • Professional qualification in project management (Prince2, APM, PMI) preferred.
  • Proven track record in a project management/project engineer role within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
  • Experience in conveyor and material handling projects would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and expertise in scheduling.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle contractual and project deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail.
