About the Role: A market-leading manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Strategic Buyer to drive procurement improvements and support global sourcing projects. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to scope and shape the procurement function long term. Key Responsibilities: * Manage end-to-end procurement for assigned commodities including machined parts, packaging, and electrical components. * Maintain and improve supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery KPIs. * Lead cost-saving projects through negotiation and contract optimisation. * Support international sourcing strategies, especially in low-cost countries. * Work closely with design, production, and stores to ensure material availability. * Optimise purchasing processes, including PO consolidation and batch planning. * Monitor lead times and inventory to ensure operational continuity. * Develop and manage supplier relationships, including overseas vendors. * Use Microsoft Dynamics to manage procurement activities and review MRP output. * Report regularly to senior leadership on procurement metrics and progress. Essential Experience: * Demonstrated success in achieving procurement cost savings. * Proven experience handling underperforming suppliers. * Strong understanding of vendor performance and procurement KPIs. * Skilled in MRP analysis and process efficiency improvements. Desirable: * Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 in a procurement environment.
