We are looking for a Senior Production Engineer to join a growing team in Shipley. This role offers the chance to influence and improve manufacturing processes, design tooling, and create CNC programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing engineering, CAM (Siemens NX or SolidWorks), and be a team player who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support technical decisions across the business and with customers.
  • Lead capital investment projects when required.
  • Assist in make/buy decisions and provide quotations for sub-contract manufacturing.
  • Design manufacturing methods for each operation, including work holding.
  • Produce detailed process plans for manufacturing sequences.
  • Select cost-effective tooling and apply cutter paths using CAM software.
  • Create and simulate CNC part programs using Vericut, Mazatrol, Heidenhain, etc.
  • Develop and maintain setup sheets and tool build documentation.
  • Provide support for the initial prove-out of methods on machining centres.
  • Promote continuous improvement of legacy manufacturing processes.
  • Liaise with all departments, including external suppliers and customers.
  • Host meetings with internal and external customers.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Manufacturing industry experience with a focus on engineered part manufacture.
  • Proficient in CAM (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Mazatrol, Heidenhain).
  • Ability to read and edit G-Code programs.
  • Strong understanding of metalworking processes and material properties.
  • Experience designing fixtures for work holding and selecting tooling.
  • Good knowledge of Post processor development and probing logic.
  • Able to lead small projects and provide detailed timing plans.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in customer-facing roles or willingness to undertake training.
  • Familiar with MRP/ERP systems for managing production processes.
