White Label is exclusively representing an engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield that require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. My client is going through a period of growth and expansion and as a result they require an experienced engineer with experience in Crane, Lifting Equipment, Mechanical Handling or similar. Package on offer for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer * Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience * Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5pm (can be flexible) * Holiday Entitlement: 31 days including stats * Pension * Overtime Duties of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer * Understanding project/client briefs, through site visits or from drawings. * To competently propose a lifting/mechanical handling solution and or produce a bespoke solution to meet the needs of the client and project needs. * Ability to quote and liaise with the customer. * Ability to design lifting equipment (lifting beams, light crane systems, etc) using 2D AUTO CAD (3D is preferred but not essential). * Produce relevant engineering calculations needed to design the product. * Ability to work with our mechanical handling and lifting design team. * To project manage all work issued to the shop floor and work with our works manager to meet client deadlines. * Willingness to be a part of an ever-growing team and to work with our automotive business as well as our lifting business. Experience required of the Senior Mechancal Design Engineer * 2D AUTOCAD (3D experience would be preferred but not essential). * Manufacturing design environment experience. * Designing lifting beams, swing jibs, crane systems and other lifting products or mechanical handling experience. * Producing calculations for designed products. * A qualification in mechanical engineering (degree or equivalent).
