White Label is representing an established engineering and manufacturing company near Barnsley that requires an Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. My client is experiencing a period of growth and is actively growing their engineering function so it’s a great time to join them. Package * A salary of £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience. * 37.5 hours with an early finish on Friday and hybrid work after 6 months. * 25 days holiday + bank holidays with this increasing with years of service. * 5% pension contribution. * Plus, other benefits. Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer * Working as part of a design team delivering design from feasibility to completion and handover * Liaising closely with other professionals, including, clients, mechanical engineers, contractors of in-house and external project teams * Attending a range of project group and technical meetings * Ensuring that the design and maintenance of electrical systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements. * Fully conversant in the use of computer-aided design (Solidworks /Autocad ), Trimble (Amtech), Dialux / Relux software, and other resources to design the systems required for the project * Preparing Electrical calculations, design, and equipment specifications * Design of control panels for generators and auxiliaries, and integration with the client’s control systems. * Detailed design of LV electrical solutions. * Design of earthing and protection systems. * Technical reviews of contractor’s proposals and on-site Inspections of the installation of building systems and maintenance and operating procedures * Preparing new and modifying existing drawings including panel schematics, SLDs, BCDs and cable schedules * Preparation of drawings for plant general arrangements, including power single line diagrams, P&IDs, and cable, instrument and I/O schedules at detailed design level. * Production of documentation, including control philosophies, telemetry configurations, tender scopes and documentation (including particular electrical and ICA specifications). * Deliver electrical engineering design, including managing design quality control processes and checking and reviewing the work of others. * Attendance of factory and site acceptance tests providing technical advice and guidance. Experience required of the Senior Electrical Design Engineer * Experience in the design of electrical LV Power and distribution and /or Control systems * Knowledge of legislation, standards, safe working practices, and environmental best practice * Desired Support for the management of all HSE, technical, and compliance risks associated with electrical systems. * 5 years or more experience in electrical design or similar positions.
