White Label Recruitment are currently supporting a highly innovative engineering business in Newark who are looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their technical team and support continued growth.
Operating within highly regulated and technically demanding sectors, our client designs and manufactures bespoke engineered solutions for global customers across industries including defence, aerospace, medical, marine and industrial markets.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys combining strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement, taking ownership of an engineering function and driving improvements across people, processes and product delivery.
The Role
Reporting into the Director of UK Operations, you will lead the engineering team, oversee technical activities and ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of engineers and technical specialists.
- Managing engineering projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Supporting technical decisions across product development, automation and control systems.
- Driving continuous improvement across engineering processes and standards.
- Working closely with production, quality, sales and customers to deliver effective engineering solutions.
- Managing resources, budgets and departmental performance.
About You
You will be an experienced Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead or Senior Engineering professional with a background in a manufacturing, product development or industrial engineering environment.
Ideally, you will have
- Degree qualified in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or similar).
- Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams.
- Experience delivering complex engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of control systems, automation or electro-mechanical products.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within a technically complex or regulated environment.
Desirable experience includes
- Electronics engineering and embedded systems.
- Experience with specialist engineered products.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as MIL-810, DO-160 and MIL-461.
- Experience with JIRA, Altium and Git Hub.
- Solid Works experience.
- Lean / Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies.
