You’ll be joining a business that is actively upgrading its capability and expects its engineers to play a key role in that journey.
The Role
This is a hands-on Production Engineering role supporting machining operations. It’s not a “sit behind a desk” position. You’ll be working closely with the shop floor, taking CAD models from engineering and making sure they are machinable, efficient, and right first time. You’ll be part of a team of experienced engineers, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Create and develop CNC programs for lathes and machining centres.
- Work from SolidWorks models to support machining operations.
- Define and improve manufacturing processes.
- Produce routings, BOMs, and process documentation.
- Support the shop floor with technical problem solving.
- Improve cycle times, methods, and process reliability.
- Work closely with engineering, purchasing, and operations teams.
What They’re Looking For
- Solid background in production/manufacturing engineering.
- Proven experience with CNC machining (lathes and machining centres).
- Experience working with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
- Understanding of 4 and 5-axis machining.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience creating routings and BOMs.
- Apprenticeship + HNC/HND (or equivalent experience).
- Around 5+ years in a similar role.
