The company is seeking a capable Design Engineer who can take ownership of full projects and play a central role in the future of the business. The Role:
The Design Engineer will manage full projects from concept through to completion. This includes design work, customer communication, documentation, and supporting procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design conveyor systems and material handling equipment, including both full systems and one-off bespoke solutions.
- Produce detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D SolidWorks models.
- Create Bills of Materials and support procurement of materials and components.
- Liaise directly with customers to understand requirements and provide design updates.
- Manage complete projects, ensuring designs are accurate, manufacturable and delivered on time.
- Support fabrication work by producing clear, accurate drawings for the welding and assembly teams.
- Work closely with the small in-house team to ensure smooth project delivery and technical accuracy.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Strong experience as a Design Engineer in machinery, material handling or conveyor systems.
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in 3D SolidWorks (or ability to transition quickly).
- Experience managing full design projects, including customer liaison.
- Understanding of fabrication processes; prior exposure to weld/fabrication environments is beneficial.
