Role and responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing and expediting activities for aerospace materials and components.
- Ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer delivery dates.
- Coordinate subcontract processing routes and maintain visibility of progress, delays and recovery actions.
- Manage supplier performance, lead times and delivery recovery activity.
- Reduce shortages and improve OTIF performance across the supply chain.
- Maintain clear escalation plans for late or at-risk orders.
- Work closely with Planning, Production, Quality and Commercial teams to prioritise actions.
- Ensure customer requirements, certifications and traceability standards are flowed down correctly to suppliers.
- Support customer communication during supply chain recovery activity when required.
- Maintain accurate PO management, supplier updates and documentation records.
What Success Looks Like:
You’ll be measured against clear delivery-focused KPIs, including:
- On Time Delivery (OTD / OTIF).
- Material and subcontract shortages.
- Supplier lead time adherence.
- Supplier delivery performance.
- Escalation and recovery response times.
- Compliance, certification and traceability accuracy.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Experience in supply chain, procurement or expediting within aerospace or regulated manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of long lead-time materials and subcontract processing.
- Confident managing supplier delays, escalations and recovery plans.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Experience managing purchase orders, supplier communication and delivery tracking.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a production-led environment.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of AS9100 / EN9100 environments.
- Experience managing approved supplier lists and customer flow-down requirements.
- ERP / MRP system experience.
- CIPS qualification or equivalent practical experience.
