A leading medical device manufacturer in Leeds is seeking a Production Engineer to join their team and drive manufacturing improvements across a range of innovative projects. This is a hands-on role where you will lead and support initiatives that enhance production efficiency, introduce automation, and bring new processes in-house.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support manufacturing improvement projects, including:
- Robotics for assembly and adhesive processes
- Design and implementation of assembly fixtures
- New smart production cell / Sigma process design
- Bringing wet paint and drape forming of polycarbonate screens in-house
- New packaging design and testing
- Lights-out manufacturing in the machine shop with automated robot loading
- Support ERP implementation projects
- Assist with engineering change processes
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Self-starter with minimal technical supervision
- Higher-level qualification (HND or degree)
- Experience with 3D CAD
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining lean processes
Desirable:
- Experience with digital transformation projects
- Experience using ERP systems for BOM management
- Manufacturing background within ISO-controlled processes
- Ability to write work instructions
