This is a hands-on role where you will take responsibility for maintaining and improving management systems, ensuring compliance, and driving a proactive safety culture across the business.

Role Overview

As a HSE Advisor, you will act as a key point of contact for all HSE matters across the site. Working closely with the Quality function and wider operations team, you will ensure systems, processes, and behaviours align with regulatory and ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve HSE systems in line with ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents
  • Conduct risk assessments including COSHH and PUWER
  • Deliver inductions and coordinate ongoing training programmes
  • Carry out audits, safety walks, and emergency drills
  • Manage contractor controls and Permit to Work systems
  • Monitor environmental performance including waste and sustainability initiatives
  • Report KPIs and present data to management teams
  • Support development of Safe Systems of Work and operating procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an HSE role within manufacturing
  • NEBOSH Certificate (essential)
  • Experience with ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems
  • Proven experience delivering HSE training
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Internal auditing experience (desirable)
