White Label is working with a growing engineering and manufacturing business in Halifax that designs and manufactures specialist machinery for a global customer base. They have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work alongside a multi-disciplined team of engineers and a product designer, utilising your experience to develop market-leading products that push the boundaries of what's possible. My client is offering a salary of £33,000 – £35,000 + benefits.

  • 38-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish at 12:30pm on Fridays.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Pension matched up to 4%

Duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Delivering new machinery that consistently meet brand and design guidelines.
  • Employing original thinking to create imaginative and market-leading design solutions.
  • Identifying testing methods to ensure all new products are tested to and beyond their design limits.
  • Producing component drawings, assembly drawings, SAT files, BOMs, technical construction information and exploded views for mainstream production.
  • Managing Engineering Change Note (ECN) proposals and ensuring timely completion.
  • Taking part in feasibility studies and cost estimates for new products and projects.
  • Contributing to New Product Development (NPD) projects and assisting in the creation of initial project plans.
  • Ensuring adherence to the Master Development plan and meeting key milestones and launch dates.
  • Maintaining compliance with quality and Health & Safety procedures.

Experience Required of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Experience in a mechanical discipline, ideally with a manufacturing background.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD is essential; experience with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault is a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum HND level in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
