We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business in Macclesfield that supplies products to a diverse customer base through a range of manufacturing processes including plastic extrusion, sheet metal fabrication and textile production.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality & Environmental Manager who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on. You will take ownership of the company's ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems while remaining actively involved in resolving shop floor quality challenges, customer concerns and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with production teams to improve quality performance and customer satisfaction.

The Role:

  • Managing and developing the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
  • Leading internal and external audits, ensuring ongoing compliance and successful certification outcomes
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints and quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Providing hands-on support to production teams to resolve shop floor quality concerns
  • Driving root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement projects
  • Monitoring quality and environmental performance metrics and reporting on key KPIs
  • Working closely with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain high standards of quality and service
  • Supporting new product introductions and process improvements
  • Promoting a positive quality culture throughout the organisation
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation and company sustainability objectives

About You:

We are looking for a proactive and practical quality professional who can balance system management with operational involvement. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager, Quality & Environmental Manager or Senior Quality Engineer position within manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems
  • Experience conducting audits and managing certification processes
  • Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work effectively with production teams and customers to resolve quality issues
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to spend time on the shop floor
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within manufacturing environments involving multiple production processes would be advantageous
