White Label are very excited to be working with one of our key manufacturing clients based in Blackburn. Due to growth, they are eager to recruit an experienced Project Engineer to support the engineering department on a wide variety of interesting projects.

This is a truly varied role and will involve a wide variety of project engineering activities from quotation stage and project costing, through to expediting required equipment/tooling and validating manufacturing processes prior to implementation of manufacture and providing support to both production and quality.

This is with a long-established, privately owned British manufacturing group with a global footprint. Headquartered in the UK, the business operates multiple manufacturing sites across the world. The organisation supports a diverse range of industrial markets through advanced manufacturing capabilities, specialist component parts, and light assemblies. The environment is technically demanding, fast paced, and focused on continuous improvement.

This is a genuinely varied Project Engineer role, covering activities from quotation and project costing through to equipment and tooling procurement, manufacturing process validation, and ongoing support to production and quality teams.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing, process development, and continuous improvement. Experience with polymer-based or similar manufacturing processes would be highly advantageous. This opportunity suits someone who enjoys practical engineering, problem solving, and seeing projects through from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support manufacturing projects from initial concept through to implementation.
  • Develop, validate, and optimise production processes.
  • Identify and deliver process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, and Engineering.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Produce technical documentation, project reports, and validation records.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar.
  • Proven experience in a hands-on manufacturing or process engineering role.
  • Strong background in process development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with complex materials or production systems is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving capability with a proactive, practical approach.
  • Confident communicator with solid project management skills.

Salary and Benefits

  • £40-55k depending on level experience.
  • 8 - 4.30 Monday to Thursday, 8 - 3.30 Friday with flexible working.
  • 25 days holiday plus 4 unpaid leave days to take.
  • 4.25% pension.
  • Ongoing training internally and externally.
