An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing & Stores Manager to join a leading manufacturer, supporting global supply chain operations at a state-of-the-art facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach the purchasing team.
  • Manage a £10M+ supplier portfolio.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
  • Oversee internal logistics and stock control.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies.
  • Maintain a global supplier base with dual-source suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate inventory and stock control.
  • Support product development and supplier recovery.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards.
  • Manage slow-moving and obsolete stock.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years in senior purchasing or supply chain roles.
  • Experience purchasing steel, welded fabrications, and machined components.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP systems and stock control.
  • Proven contract negotiation skills and cost reduction experience.
  • Ability to travel globally for supplier management.

Desirable:

  • CIPS qualification (or working towards).
  • Experience with open-book costing.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
  • Friday: 07:30 - 13:30
