1to1 Group are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join our client’s team in Winchester. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role within a law firm or professional services. As the practice manager, you will work with the members of the business, the finance director, and the Archivist. You will also work with the lawyers and support staff in the business when required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the firm’s ongoing compliance with SRA Rules and Regulations and maintain accreditations, including CQS.
- Manage all business insurance policies, including Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII), office, Directors’ & Officers’ (D&O), and cyber insurance.
- Support recruitment activities, including participating in interviews alongside colleagues.
- Coordinate first‑day arrangements, induction programmes, and initial training for new starters.
- Source and arrange training to ensure employees remain up to date with regulatory and compliance requirements, including AML, GDPR, and SRA regulations.
- Manage relationships and contracts with third party suppliers, including IT support, telephony, printing, and software providers.
- Collaborate with lawyers and other stakeholders to develop marketing materials, client communications, and business development collateral.
- Provide cover and support for finance functions during periods of holiday absence.
- Assist with the management of work in progress (WIP), debt control, and cash flow monitoring.
- Administer and manage office alarm systems and security arrangements.
- Coordinate the procurement and provision of office furniture and equipment.
- Manage health and safety matters, including first aid supplies and compliance requirements.
- Ensure the office building and surrounding areas, including the car park, are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- General office duties as and when required.
Requirements
- CIPD level qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience managing a team/office is essential.
- IT skills ideally in Microsoft Office suite.
- Approachable.
- Collaborative skills.
