Up to £55,000 Full-time – Hybrid 6-month FTC
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day finances of the charity and associated funds
- Monitor income, expenditure, investments and reserves
- Oversee cashflow, banking arrangements and financial controls
- Maintain accurate financial records and audit trails
- Ensure compliance with Charity Commission requirements, accounting standards, HMRC regulations and relevant governance frameworks
- Support internal and external audits
- Act as a trusted adviser to trustees and senior stakeholders
- Prepare financial reports and papers for trustee meetings
- Develop forecasting models and management information
- Assess the financial impact of new initiatives and projects
- Oversee funding related to welfare initiatives, veteran support, sporting activities, heritage projects, events and other charitable programmes
Qualifications
- AAT qualified, part-qualified, qualified or chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience managing financial accounts, budgeting and forecasting
- Strong knowledge of charity finance and governance requirements
- Experience using financial ledger systems such as Sage
- Experience working within the charity, public sector, military or not-for-profit environment
- Experience presenting financial information to boards, trustees or senior leadership teams
