1to1 Group is looking for an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their clients team in Andover. As a member of the Additional Learning Support team, you will assist learners to realise their learning goals and full potential.

Overview

About the role:

  • £13.00 – 13.50 per hour.
  • Location: Andover.
  • Contract: Temporary ongoing.
  • Working days: Monday to Friday.
  • Screening: Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will need to undergo a screening process including an Enhanced DBS.
  • Ideal candidate will have previous LSA experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting individual learners in the learning environment, whether it’s a classroom, study centre or during an outside activity.
  • Support individual learners on a one-to-one basis following a prescribed scheme of work and using materials directed by the lecturer.
  • Supporting individual learners in the learning environment; for instance, breaking down tasks into manageable chunks; assisting with focus and concentration; and checking understanding along with acting as a scribe and/or photocopying material for the learners’ use.
  • Liaising with teaching staff on the learners progression and learning plan and taking part in half-termly reviews with teaching staff if required.
  • Maintain health and safety by supervising learners in out-of-class activities, including break time and bus duty when required.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Previous Learning Support Assistant experience (preferred).
  • Ability to work with individual learners and support their learning goals.
  • Willingness to undergo DBS enhanced disclosure and screening requirements.
