We are seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to oversee our clients payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in payroll systems and previous payroll management experience within a larger business. This role offers an opportunity to lead payroll functions within a dynamic organisation, supporting both operational efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing
  • Ensure accurate data entry related to employee hours, deductions, benefits, and tax information
  • Work closely with the HR and finance teams to ensure compliance
  • Ensure payment is made to employees on the determined payment date
  • Oversee accounts payable related to payroll expenses and liaise with finance teams for reconciliation
  • Manage the companies pension schedule, adding new starters and uploading monthly contributions
  • Manage any payroll forecasting for the group based on headcount, pay rates etc
  • Ensure all variable pay data for office staff is collected
  • Generate detailed payroll reports for management review and audit purposes
  • Analyse payroll data to identify discrepancies or trends requiring attention
  • Implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency
  • Stay informed about legislative changes affecting payroll and employee compensation

Experience

  • Proven experience in payroll management within a medium to large organisation
  • Experience of dealing with highly confidential/sensitive data
  • International payroll experience
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll software
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently
  • Familiarity with employment legislation and compliance standards in the UK and abroad
  • Prior experience working alongside human resources teams is highly desirable
