White Horse Employment are proud to be continuing our support for a well-established organisation in Somerset in the search for a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) to take on a broad and varied role within a collaborative environment. Working closely with the Head of Finance and senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing meaningful financial insights to support decision-making. The position offers strong exposure across the finance function and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing improvements in financial processes and systems.
Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate monthly and periodic management accounts, managing the month-end process and providing clear commentary on financial performance against budget and forecast.
- Producing financial reports and analysis for senior stakeholders and budget holders.
- Supporting the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, working closely with operational teams to monitor spend, track capital investment and ensure financial plans remain aligned with business objectives.
- Contributing to the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting the external audit process while maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- Assisting with VAT reporting and ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and treated correctly within the finance system.
- Supporting improvements to financial systems, reporting tools and internal processes, while contributing to finance-related projects and wider initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and financial visibility across the organisation.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working closely with stakeholders and contributing to business performance. You will likely have:
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial analysis.
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
