White Horse Employment are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a well-established, multi-site business to recruit a Senior Management Accountant to join their high-performing finance team based in Bristol. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded accountant to take full ownership of a business unit, playing a key role in driving performance, improving processes, and influencing decision-making. The position offers clear progression into senior leadership positions, with the opportunity to expand your remit across multiple business units as you develop within the organisation.

The Role

  • Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts with insightful analysis and commentary
  • Taking full ownership of the financial performance of a business unit, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Partnering with operational stakeholders to support strategic and commercial decision-making
  • Reviewing and improving existing processes, controls, and reporting to drive efficiency and accuracy
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the finance team
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, and key financial controls
  • Working closely with the wider finance function to ensure consistency and best practice

About You

  • Proven experience in a management accounting or similar commercial finance role
  • Ideally fully qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA but will accept part qualified candidates
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into meaningful insight
  • Proactive and commercially aware, with a desire to add value beyond the numbers
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and build relationships across the business
  • Driven, ambitious, and keen to progress into a more senior leadership role
