White Horse is working exclusively with a long-standing client to recruit a newly created role within their People & Culture function. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver employee engagement and internal communications strategy within a purpose-driven organisation.

The Role

This position plays a key role in ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with organisational goals and values. You will lead on internal communications, drive engagement initiatives, and support the development of a positive, inclusive, and values-led culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internal Communications & Organisational Alignment
    • Develop and deliver an internal communications strategy aligned to business objectives
    • Ensure clear, consistent, and engaging messaging across all levels
    • Translate strategy and priorities into meaningful employee communications
    • Support senior leaders with communication planning and delivery
    • Manage internal communication channels
  • Employee Engagement & Experience
    • Design and deliver initiatives to improve employee engagement and experience
    • Lead employee surveys, analyse feedback, and drive action planning
    • Create opportunities for employee voice and participation
    • Enhance key employee moments including development and recognition
    • Promote a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Culture, Values & Behaviour
    • Champion and embed company values and behaviours
    • Support leaders in reinforcing organisational culture
    • Develop initiatives to strengthen engagement and belonging
    • Ensure alignment between culture, communications, and people practices
  • Learning & Development
    • Develop and coordinate a learning and development approach that supports MEI’s strategic priorities, values, and capability needs
    • Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and knowledge sharing across MEI
    • Support the evaluation of learning activities to ensure impact, accessibility, and value for money
    • Design, commission, or source learning interventions (e.g., management capability, core skills, values and behaviours)
  • Change & Communication Management
    • Lead communication planning for organisational change initiatives
    • Ensure employees are informed, supported, and engaged through change
    • Provide clear updates and enable open dialogue and feedback
  • Employee Relations Support
    • Provide guidance on employee relations matters in collaboration with HR
    • Support fair and consistent handling of employee concerns
    • Assist in the development and communication of HR policies

About You

  • Experience in employee engagement, internal communications, and a generalist HR role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate business strategy into engaging messaging

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:

  • Experience in organisational development or culture transformation
  • Familiarity with engagement survey tools
  • CIPD qualification (Level 3) or equivalent
